Christmas Food  at  Tokyo Disney!

What I learned from trying all the Christmas Food at Tokyo Disney:

Japan's idea of Christmas is very different from America's. While an American Christmas is traditionally defined by gingerbread, peppermint, and festive baked goods, Japan sees Christmas in another light. The incorporation of reds and greens was definitely still present, but all the details that I grew up loving were no where to be seen.

It was new, exciting, and very different than what I was expecting! Giving all these new treats a try was quite the experience.

Chocolate Churro

This churro was everything I never knew I needed! Churros are wonderful as they are: a crunchy piece of heaven, and filled with an inside of delicate wonder. This churro was all of that, but so much more. In addition to the normal goodness of a churro, it had a unique cocoa taste and a delicious coat of sugar.

Basil Chicken Cream Danish & Strawberry Muffin

Strawberry Muffin!
I'm not usually the biggest fan of artificial strawberry flavors; however, this muffin left me pleasantly surprised! It was a lot more soft and moist than I was originally anticipating, and the subtle crunch that accompanied the multicolored sprinkles left me feeling incredibly satisfied.

Basil Chicken Cream Danish
This Mickey shaped pastry was absolutely delicious! The ears were flaky baked croissants and the center was filled with a mixture of savory flavors. The basil, chicken, and cheese created was a combination that left my tastebuds feeling satisfied. It surely hit the spot!

Christmas Tree Pizza (Teriyaki Chicken)

Broccoli is my favorite ingredient in just about everything, so you can bet that I was itching to try this pizza! The teriyaki sauce and cheese mixed with the vegetable flavors was a happy surprise to my tastebuds! I would say that this is one of the best pizzas that I've tried in Japan as a whole!

Strawberry and Cranberry Crepe

The presentation of this little dessert was absolutely adorable with the chocolate Minnie Mouse Bow and shimmering sprinkles. In addition to this, I found the crunch that came with the cookie base to be very pleasant. Although I did like this aspect of the treat, I was a little disappointed with the crepe filling. I love to eat fresh fruit in my crepes typically, but I didn't find the strawberries and cranberries to be very fresh.

Chocolate Coffee Mouse Cake

I'm no crazy coffee drinker, but that didn't stop me from LOVING this mouse cake! It had the perfect balance of coffee flavor and chocolate, so neither flavor was too overwhelming. The cake easily melted in my mouth with each bite and made me wonder why I ever disliked coffee. I just never wanted it to end. It was topped with a fluffy, light frosting and just a sprinkle of what had the texture of Pop Rocks! Overall, I almost overlooked this one, but am so happy that I gave it a try!

Custard Mouse Cake and Milk Jellied Dessrt

Every treat is better when you have a little chocolate Christmas tree to start off with. With this in mind, there was almost no way that I could be disappointed with this one! This dessert closely resembles the flavors of a moist cheesecake, but texture was airy and delicate. The combination of flavors and consistencies was surely something memorable and is something I’d definitely recommend to a fellow Cheesecake lover.

Churro (potato)

Picture
I wasn't really sure what to imagine when I thought about a Potato Churro, but I had to try it because the line was always incredibly long! That must mean it's worth it, right? My first bite left me a bit confused, but then I grew to really enjoy it! The outside layer reminded me of a crispy french fry, while the inside had a delicious potato flavor with the texture of bread. I'm not sure how they managed to create this little snack, but it sure did hit the spot!

Blueberry Popcorn

Picture
This popcorn flavor is not just specific to Christmas time, but was conveniently placed next to a giant Christmas tree... Therefore, I just had to try it, right? I was a bit wary about blueberry flavoring on popcorn, but it is now one of my favorites! It has the perfect combo of salty and sweet. You can taste the salt in the foundation of the popcorn, but each bite has a blueberry caramelized coat on top! Now, the Honey Popcorn and Blueberry Popcorn are my favorite when it comes to sweet popcorn flavors at Tokyo Disney Resort.
