Seminyak is a beautiful area right on the coast in Bali, Indonesia. Although there are plenty of things to do and explore, here is what I would consider to be "7 Incredible Things to do in Seminyak!" Visit the Most Instagrammable CafesSeminyak is absolutely littered with aesthetically pleasing cafes. You look to your right and you'll see some colorful, photogenic backdrops. You look to your left and you see food that is just as artistic as it is delicious. This is the ultimate instagrammer's HEAVEN. You can look around any corner and find another place to be drawn to. Map Pops I was just casually walking home one night when I came across this cute little place! All of their products are made from local and fresh seasonal fruits, contain no additives or preservatives, and are ALL VEGAN! If this isn't guilt free dessert then I don't know what is. Cafe Organic I came to Cafe Organic to try a smoothie bowl, but honestly everything on their menu looked astounding! There are vegan and vegetarian options galore, and all the menu choices are produced using locally farmed ingredients and it definitely makes a difference. I walked away with the biggest smile on my face. I'm sure everyone's body just can't help but be grateful after being fueled with such wonderful nutrients and flavors! Kynd Cafe Kynd Cafe is a wonderful little spot that encourages the idea that plant based foods do not have to be boring! I'm so thankful to have run across a little place like this because their message is so strong and prevalent! There is a common misconception that plant based products are not as tasty; however, Kynd Cafe shows that plant based products can be even better! Balibo.la When I visited this spot, the cafe was not even finished being built yet. Regardless of this, it sounds like it'll be wonderful! It emphasizes a healthy, flexitarian diet and they provide meals that are both organic, wholesome, and delicious! Although their cafe was not complete during my trip, they had their signature "Balifornia Dreaming" sign right outside the construction, and they said that their cafe would be opening shortly! Visit the W Hotel for a PhotoshootAlthough the W Hotel isn't any real attraction in itself, the architecture and detail of the lush, green entry way is worth stopping by to admire and/or photograph. When I wandered over there myself, there were many other tourists who were also dodging cars in hope of capturing the perfect picture. Photography tip: angle your photo from the ground so you can see the top of the green arches better! Watch the Sun Set Over the Indian OceanNothing beats a good sunset! Nothing. SO GET ON DOWN TO THE COAST TO CATCH SOME STUNNING VIEWS! You won't regret lathering up yourself in bug spray in exchange for an evening of beauty. I would suggest to either catch a seat either on the shore, or at a local beach club! There are plenty of reputable establishments in Seminyak with both stunning views & delicious food! Ku De Ta is where we ended up going and we were head over heals. The beach access was incredibly convenient, they had plenty of mouthwatering food options, there were some relaxing pools to gaze from, and the service was kind and accommodating with seating big parties. By the deck, they mainly serve plates that are more simple & easy to share, but they also have a restaurant menu as well. Another place that was recommended to us was Potato Head, but I never personally got the chance to check it out! Browse the Shops in/around Seminyak SquareSeminyak is known for their various shops that are all scattered around town and they are all worth checking out. Seminyak square is a local mall in the area with various familiar brand names, but you can venture down the neighboring streets to window shop and become familiar with some "hole in the wall" shops. They all share unique products and themes that are so individual and incorporate balinese cultural ideas. Go on a Day Trip to Tanah LotJust north of Seminyak lies a unique rock formation that is home of the famous Tanah Lot temple. This is an important site that is well known for its cultural significance and beauty. Locals and tourists alike can be found marveling the temple from both near and far. Especially for foreigners, this is a great location to get a taste of Indonesian culture and traditions. All people have access to the base of the temple when it is low tide, but only people wearing kamen (balinese traditional attire) have permission to venture up the rock formation. The temple itself sits atop the rock formation, and this is where all of the tradition and culture can be observed. If you want to actually visit the temple firsthand, remember that there is a dress code. Most people don't know this, so you will most likely be one of the only people up there if you decide to dress accordingly! THE BEACHGo to the beach! Just do it! Seminyak sits on Bali's western coastline and is extremely simple to access. Come down to the sand to experience some stunning views, drink from a fresh coconut, and purchase a new sarong from a local vendor. You won't regret it! I would suggest to visit Bali during dry season so the humidity isn't as intense. I went right when wet season finished, so I can't lie and say that there was not a lot of sweat involved. I have been told that dry season in Bali is wonderful. If wet season cannot be avoided, just be prepared! Take Advantage of Goddess Retreats!Goddess Retreats was the primary reason that I went to Bali. I had heard so many incredible reviews from some friends of mine, and it seemed like the perfect getaway for my personal needs. During this retreat, we all had the opportunity to experience ultimate relaxation. There was no sense of urgency or pressure; everything we needed was at the tips of our fingers. Everyday included incredibly wholesome meals, luxurious spa treatments, peaceful morning yoga filled with serenity, time to leisurely sit by the pool, an opportunity to explore Seminyak and its people, a chance to make new friends from all over the globe, and the ability to learn about and explore oneself during the whole process. This is an incredible women's retreat that fosters an environment that is both safe and loving. Before I came to this retreat, I was experiencing a major transition in my life and it was not easy. This retreat was the perfect opportunity for me to start over mentally in a beautiful place with beautiful people. All the incredible individuals I met during this experience came to this retreat for refuge for a variety of reasons, but I think we all left feeling the same: inspired & awakened. Enjoy Bali!
